Employees, Families Celebrate Success at Melaleuca’s Annual Picnic

Thousands of Melaleuca employees and their family members were treated to food, games, rides, and prizes at the company’s annual picnic yesterday. One of the most anticipated corporate events of the year, the Melaleuca Family Picnic is a celebration of the company’s success and a thank-you to its workforce.

This year’s festivities—all of which were free—included all-you-can-eat food, horseback rides, carnival games and prizes, mechanical bulls, zip lines, bouncy houses, rock-climbing walls, and other attractions outside Melaleuca’s global headquarters. All told, there were 35 fun-filled activities for attendees to enjoy. In recognition of their hard work, more than 160 employees and family members were also rewarded with a thrilling, once-in-a-lifetime helicopter ride.

Melaleuca’s calendar is full of events designed to show appreciation for its workforce, and the summertime picnic is easily one of the most popular. It’s a beloved tradition that employees and their families look forward to all year long.

Over 100 employees won prizes including big-screen televisions, Apple Watches, Xbox One consoles, Amazon Echos, mountain bikes, kayaks, spa packages, and more.

As is the case every year, the highlight of yesterday’s picnic was a drawing where three lucky employees won a grand prize. Rachel Armas won a New York City vacation complete with several Broadway tickets, Ruby Chavez won a trip for four to Disneyland, and Trina Moosman won a Caribbean cruise.

Armas, a 10-year Melaleuca employee, won not only the grand-prize trip to New York City, but a television as well. “What are the chances?” Armas says. “When I heard my name called a second time, I thought, ‘Can this really be true?’ I’m still in shock.”

“I am so grateful to Melaleuca for the chance to go on this trip. I am overwhelmed by Frank VanderSloot's generosity. My dream has been to travel, and now I get to see a part of the world I never considered experiencing.”
